Where Chris Neil goes, trouble follows.
In the first period of the Ottawa Senators’ game against the Boston Bruins on Monday night, Neil chased the puck deep into the offensive zone, only to get crushed by Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid against the end boards. Yowch:
That hit led into a fight between Adam McQuaid and Patrick Wiercioch of the Senators, as Neil was helped from the ice. They both earned fighting majors while Wiercioch was given the instigator. McQuaid was given two minutes for boarding.
Weep not for Chris Neil. He returned to the game later in the first period, and then met up with Chris Kelly at center ice in the second period with a knee-on-knee hit.
(In case you couldn’t tell from the subtle logo, SB Nation uploaded the video.)
Kelly appears to straighten his leg to play the puck as Neil collides with him. The Ottawa pest wasn’t penalized on the play.
What say you: Dirty or no?
