The Sabres netminder made 34 saves during Buffalo's 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens to earn his career-high sixth shutout of the season and 28th of his career. Cody Hodgson scored his first two goals since being dealt to Buffalo as the Sabres moved into a tie with Washington for eighth in the Eastern Conference. Over their last 17 games, the Sabres are 11-2-4.
No. 2 Star: Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina captain followed up his 2-goal night against Winnipeg with another 2-goal effort during a 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Staal now has 29 points in his last 22 games. Cam Ward stopped 30 shots and Joni Pitkanen netted a goal and added an assist after returning from missing 44 games due to a concussion.
No. 3 Stars: Andrew Shaw, Chicago Blackhawks / Ryan Callahan, New York Rangers
Another heated meeting between the two sides ended when Shaw deflected home a Johnny Oduya shot in overtime to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Chicago is the proud owner of a 5-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 11 games.
Callahan picked a great way to celebrate his 27th birthday on Wednesday by firing home the overtime winner as the Rangers edged the Detroit Red Wings 2-1:
Hopefully he won't be docked any pay for the broken camera like Ben Eager was.

Honorable mention: Jason Blake's pass in front went off Ian Cole in front and by Jaroslav Halak with under six minutes left in the third period and broke a 3-3 tie to help give the Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues. Blues rookie Jaden Schwartz scored his second goal of the year in his second game on his second career shot ... Jannik Hansen went by Oduya for his 15th goal of the year 27 seconds into the first period to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead; then minutes later checked Oduya into the boards knocking out a pane of glass. The lesson? Don't mess with the Danes.
Did you know? Both overtime goals tonight were scored at the 2:42 mark.
Dishonorable mention: Florida's loss ends their 5-game winning streak ... Daniel Sedin left the game after taking a Duncan Keith elbow in the head. Minutes before that, Sedin laid a shoulder up on high on Keith. There will definitely be a hearing tomorrow for Keith; will there be one for Sedin, too? ... St. Louis is now 2-14-1 in their last 17 visits to Anaheim.
