Watch stirring tribute to the diving LA Kings and San Jose Sharks (Video)

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the San Jose Sharks in Game 7 on Tuesday night, and it’s only fitting that goalie Jonathan Quick had a moment that captured the essence of the series.

No, it wasn’t a clutch save to give the home team the victory. It was a diving penalty.

Because this series was the divingest series that ever dived, according to YouTube hockey editor “M A K A V E L I.” Relish the embellishment in this new video, set to the stirring theme from “Man of Steel”:

Keep in mind that “M A K A V E L I” is a Vancouver Canucks fans, hence the familiarity with both the Kings and the Sharks. And, well, diving too.

Not for nothing, but a couple of those Logan Couture clips don’t exactly refute Kevin Bieksa’s claim that “you touch him after the whistle and he is going to jump off the ice and throw himself into the glass.”

Please keep in mind that everybody in the NHL embellishes in order to draw a penalty. It’s just that some do it more often than others, and sometimes do it to the point where you feel like they’re crying wolf if someone does in fact foul them on a play.

We’re not saying, for example, that Jonathan Quick has lost the benefit of the doubt. We’re just impressed he’s able to be that limber while carrying all that SCUBA equipment ...
