NHL 3 Stars: Lupul lifts Leafs; shutouts for everyone!

No. 1 Star: Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings

Quick wasn't bad in his first two starts, but he made a few mistakes and they cost the Kings. In Game 3, however, he was fully mistake-free, stopping all 30 shots he faced in a huge 1-0 win over the St. Louis Blues. Slava Voynov scored the lone goal.

No. 2 Star: Joffrey Lupul, Toronto Maple Leafs

After the Boston Bruins took a 1-0 lead, Lupul came to life, scoring twice in the second period to put them ahead. They would stay ahead, winning 4-2. The game-winner came courtesy Phil Kessel, who's been saving himself for 24 games so this one would be extra special:

No. 3 Star: Ryan Getzlaf, Anaheim Ducks

Two-point night for Getzlaf. After picking up an assist on Nick Bonino's powerplay goal to open the scoring versus the Detroit Red Wings, Getzlaf doubled the lead for the Ducks in painful fashion for a Red Wings fan, stealing a puck from Damien Brunner and scoring a shorthanded marker:

The Ducks would go on to win 4-0.

Honourable mention: Jonas Hiller made 23 saves for the shutout in Detroit... James Reimer made 39 saves for the Maple Leafs... Mike Green scored the overtime winner for the Washington Capitals in their 1-0 victory over the New York Rangers, turning a 37-save performance by Henrik Lundqvist into a footnote. Braden Holtby picked up the shutout for Washington...

Did You Know? This is the first time the Ducks and Kings have won playoff games on the same day, according to Ducks PR. This apparently means something.
