No. 1 Star: Tomas Vokoun, Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins backup was stellar against the Boston Bruins, stopping 31 shots in a 2-1 victory, including all 12 he faced in the third period when the Pens were outshot 12-3. He made goals by Sidney Crosby and Joe Vitale stand up.
No. 2 Star: Jordan Eberle, Edmonton Oilers
Eberle’s seventh of the season in the third period proved to the be the game-winner, as the Oilers defeated the Nashville Predators, 3-2. He also assisted on Magnus Paajarvi’s power-play goal to open the scoring in the second period.
No. 3 Star: Jakob Silfverberg, Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa forward scored two goals, including a power-play tally in the first period, to help give the Sens a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
Honorable mention: Marcus Johansson, Mattieu Perreault and Troy Brouwer had a goal and an assist in the Washington Capitals’ 5-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Jason Chimera scored his first of the season; Alex Ovechkin scored 19 seconds into the game. … Cody Hodgson scored two goals in the loss. … Shea Weber and Roman Josi had the Predators’ goals. … Robin Lehner made 25 saves for Ottawa. … Kyle Turris scored his eighth in the win.
