In real life (‘IRL’, for those that pwn noobz), Alex Ovechkin is a player trying to recapture his dominating game, especially when facing an opponent at full strength.
In the world of his Gillette razor ads from Russia, the Washington Capitals captain is still the guy who can take on a massive army of hockey stormtroopers and demolish them like … well, like a spiffy Gillette Fusion ProGlide through so many whiskers. Hey, that’s what those players are supposed to be, and Ovie's the razor oh wow it all clicked!
An open-ice hip check? Is this footage from 2011? (We kid, we kid.)
Pretty intense commercial, and not just for that scene of Ovechkin in a towel. But we can’t help but think we’ve seen this “hero vs. black-clad faceless army of hockey villains” before.
Oh, right:
Gillette … you hosers.
