Chronicles of Stanley: Justin Williams takes the Cup to Atlantic City

The Chronicles of Stanley is an occasional series this summer that tracks the Los Angeles Kings as they each get their special alone time with the Stanley Cup.

This wasn't Justin Williams' first 24 hours with the Stanley Cup. In 2006, as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes, Williams did what many players do when given this opportunity: he took it home. Home for Williams is Cobourg, Ontario. This time around, Williams spent the day at his off-season home in Ventnor, New Jersey, and like he did six years ago, he and some friends and family gathered for a game of ball hockey, with the Cup on the line, of course:

Williams also tended net the first time around, but unlike 2006, his team was on the winning end last weekend. After the Cobourg experience six years ago, Williams told the Press of Atlantic City that he wanted some "me" time the second time around. There's no better "me" time than spending it on a boat, which he did with his brother-in-law and, as you'll see, his now future sister-in-law:

While it was Williams' first time bringing the Cup to his off-season home, it was the second year in a row that the fabled trophy found itself inside an Atlantic City casino. A year ago, Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg chose against bringing the Cup to his home of Schwenningen, Germany and instead spent the day with it in AC. Part of the day was spent at Caesars casino, something Williams did as well, with visits from Kings assistant coach John Stevens, teammate and former Philadelphia Flyer Jeff Carter and Trenton (ECHL) assistant coach and former NHLer Todd Fedoruk.

Carter's day with the Cup is scheduled for Aug. 24, the day after Drew Doughty has. Will it be party time in London, Ont., or you think Carter was out scouting locations while in Atlantic City?
