Zdeno Chara, Slovak guitar hero (VIDEO)

Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is one of the most celebrated hockey players in Slovakia (and, we're just speculated, not among its shortest). At the recent Zlatý Puk a.k.a. Golden Puck awards, Chara captured the honors for best defenseman and best player in Slovakia — topping a field of Marian Gaborik, Miro Satan, Jan Laco and Marian Hossa.

Ah, but then came the greatest honor … the honor to RAWK!

Chara was pulled out of the audience at the awards by a member of the band Team, given a guitar and joined them on their hit song "Drzím Ti Miesto" in front of a leggy collection of dancing girls in hockey sweaters.

(If the video doesn't jump there, head to the 2:40 mark.)

Your move, Erik Karlsson.

And to think, not a single NHL Award winner was allowed to rock out with Nickelback. And by "rock out" we of course mean "kabong that James Hetfield wannabe with a guitar shot."

Now, does Lucic know about Chara's axe heroism? Because his Pearl Jam cover band has seen its share of defections ...
