Stanley Cup champs hats; Game 6 previews; Luke Schenn, Ryan Suter and Zach Parise chatter (Puck Headlines)

Here are your Puck Headlines: a glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• From the good people at Zephyr come these Stanley Cup champions hats that will go on sale "the minute one of the teams takes the series at shop.nhl.com." They're not the locker room hats, FYI. Zephyr is running a 'guess the winner/score' contest on Facebook. (Via Scotty Hockey)

• Great write-up on the Craig MacTavish hiring by Black Dog Hates Skunks, which includes a mention of handsome actor George Peppard: "MacT is the GM in waiting. I have absolutely no doubt about this. Apparently he will have some say in the selection of the next coach. One might guess that he will 'recommend' the final hire. It will be his first coach in all but name." [BDHS]

• Jeremy Roenick on Game 6: "I think the Kings will win it in overtime. For me, it's just about being at home, the last-ditch effort and energy. I think they might get a couple of bounces that they haven't gotten in the last couple of games." [NHL.com]

• A bit on the Phoenix Coyotes becoming the Arizona Coyotes under the prospective ownership group's lease deal. [Fox Sports]

• Is Dennis Wideman Plan B for the Detroit Red Wings if they don't sign Ryan Suter? [MLive]

• The Red Wings are ready to make Jiri Hudler a rather wealthy individual, if he's not already. [Red Wings Front, via Winging It]

• Are Suter and Zach Parise a package deal, and what does that mean for the Minnesota Wild? [Hockey Wilderness]

• Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts had a lot on Sidney Crosby and this bit on the Toronto Maple Leafs: "There are rumblings that Toronto will offer Luke Schenn to Edmonton for a swap of first-rounders. No doubt Brian Burke would like to make a huge draft splash. He loves the big stage. And I do believe the Oilers like Schenn and have discussed his availability before. But I just can't see it happening for the first-overall selection. That's not enough. It'll be interesting, though, to see how many teams think Schenn will be better off outside Toronto. Sounds like the Maple Leafs are aware of that and, as a result, ask for a lot in return." [CBC Sports]

• Look, it's really simple: If you're a child and you have a hockey stick, DO NOT use it to taunt a baby bear. [Northern Life]

• More on that ridiculous ban against that junior hockey coach for allowing his players to skip opening ceremonies to study. [Buzzing The Net, Prep Rally]

• Michael Farber on the 2012 Stanley Cup Final: "Brodeur's giggles lent a dash of flavor to a series that, until Game 5, had been so polite that the only thing missing was a salad fork." [SI]

• Jesse Spector on the low-scoring Stanley Cup Final: "For the most part, both teams systems have worked, leaving no reason for either side to make big changes heading into Game 6, whether they're trying to stay alive, trying to win the Cup or trying to enjoy a delicious breakfast." [Sporting News]

• Cam Charron on Bryce Salvador's candidacy for the Conn Smythe. [Backhand Shelf]

• Do the Norfolk Admirals, Calder Cup champs, have 10 guys ready to make the NHL leap? [Raw Charge]

• Alex Ovechkin's evaluation from Japers' Rink: "If a single goal could encapsulate Ovechkin's season, it might be the very last one the Caps allowed - Ovechkin tried to do to much by himself rather than making the safe/smart/simple play, got beaten by a mediocre defender, then failed to hustle back as that defender proceeded to ultimately end the Caps' season. Overly dramatic? Perhaps. But seven years into Ovechkin's career, the offensive numbers can no longer make up for the shortcomings in his game the way they did before; something's got to give." [Japers]

• Lyle Richardson mulls Jordan Staal's future with the Pittsburgh Penguins. [THN]

• What are the New York Rangers to do with Ruslan Fedotenko? [Blueshirt Banter]

• Finally, here's a bit of NSFW audio caught by CBC after Anton Volchenkov was clipped in the face while blocking a shot. Sounds Doughty-ish?
