Sometimes, you just feel it on the ice: Everything you put on net is a quality chance, and the stat sheet begins to fill up with goals. You're one fire, on a roll, or — if there's a headline writer looking to shovel on the hyperbole — you're shooting out the lights.
Then there's Arsenny Stoyakn of the WSHL San Diego Jr. A Tier III Gulls, who was lights-out in a recent game … literally.
I've seen this happen in rec league and in high-school hockey before, and it's never not awesome. OK, sometimes the cleanup is less than awesome. But that's usually someone else's problem.
Question 'o the morning: What's the oddest deflection you've witnessed in a game?
