Lombardi scores twice, Leafs blank Isles (AP)

Matthew Lombardi scored two goals and Jonas Gustavsson made 25 saves as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the New York Islanders 3-0 on Monday night in the first game of a home-and-home series. Phil Kessel also scored for Toronto (24-19-5), which moved into an eight-place tie in the Eastern Conference with the idle Washington Capitals.
